Overview and Summary


The Talent Development Associate will support the Learning Team by coordinating and scheduling required training; creating courses and updating records in the learning management system (Halogen LMS); analyzing training needs; running reports, analyzing data and drawing conclusions from the data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Maintain the learning management system (LMS) in Halogen including creating/modifying courses, tests and learning paths, scheduling courses, and maintaining accurate training records.      
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and assist them in using the LMS, including helping employees enroll in courses/learning paths, deleting enrollment, viewing courses, setting up development plans, etc.
  • Collaborate with instructors and employees to schedule all instructor led training sessions, ensuring appropriate attendees are included and necessary forms/documentation is provided; set up sessions in the LMS; approve employee enrollment.
  • Produce, maintain and analyze reports in Excel regarding course completions and certification completion progress; ensure completion records are kept up to date.
  • Prepare classrooms and course materials prior to instructor-led training sessions.
  • Verify that certification requirements have been met prior to issuing certificates; clearly communicate certification requirements to employees; create certificates to be awarded annually to newly certified employees.
  • Manage the Learning team calendar and email inbox. Schedule all trainings and certification presentations utilizing the Learning calendar. Monitor and respond timely to all emails in the Learning inbox.
  • Manage the tracking of expense authorization for all travel related to certification training; collect travel related expenses and accurately record them in Excel; compare to expense reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Compose and send professionally written training-related email communications to individual employees and groups on a global basis.
  • Run employee data reports (in Excel) from the HRIS system and Halogen performance management and learning system; analyze the data and draw conclusions from the data.

  • Time Management: Strong ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple concurrent tasks while getting tasks completed on time
  • MS SharePoint: Familiarity with the functions and features of MS SharePoint (i.e., content management, documentation, data sharing)
  • MS Excel: Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with Excel, including writing formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, creating charts and graphs
  • MS Outlook: Familiarity with Outlook email, calendar and Skype messaging
  • LMS: Familiarity with learning management systems (experience with Halogen LMS a plus)
  • Verbal Communication: Ability to compose and verbally deliver information of varying levels, using appropriate grammar, tone, inflection and non-verbal cues, while also listening to and correctly deciphering verbal communication delivered by others
  • Written Communication: Ability and capacity to communicate ideas, facts and data in writing using appropriate grammar, syntax and sentence structure

Must possess a combination of education and experience as follows:

  • Must hold a baccalaureate degree preferably in business, human resources, instructional design, I-O psychology or other related field from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent foreign institution.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous work experience, preferably in the Human Resources, Learning/Training, Organizational/Talent Development field.
