    The Accountant will perform variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. This role will reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position. Collect, compile, verify, and analyses financial information and prepare financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings. Provide technical accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Balance bank statements.
    • Generate journal entries.
    • Generate customer invoices.
    • Generate payments to vendors.
    • Generate job costing reports.
    • Generate payroll and reconcile all payroll related accounts and also assists in the review of the payroll computation.
    • Financial analysis including determining P/S and year end P/R accruals.
    • Report generation in Financial package, Excel and Jet Reports.
    • Analyze, review, and advise management regarding processes and activities.
    • Reviews and processes expense reports as well as performs various analysis on expenses.
    • Assist in the analysis of annual budget, including determination of processes, documents, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • With oversight, provides financial knowledge, insight, and process management, which facilitates operational and strategic decision-making. 
    • With guidance, partners with teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated, and timely.
    • Works with manager in completing own annual goal setting and performance review in a timely manner.
    • Works with manager to prioritize other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications - Education and Experience

    • Solid knowledge of accounting terminology and ability to understand and interpret analysis.
    • Solid knowledge of financial diagnostic methodologies and ability to understand drivers of cost variance.
    • Advanced skills in the use of MS Office suite of applications including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project.
    • Ability to collaborate and identify/resolve conflicts or barriers to effective teamwork
    • Ability to analyze problems, determine and implement appropriate solutions.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong math skills. 
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; including pivot tables and advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP and conditional formatting.
    • Excellent written and oral communication in English and the local language.

    Must possess a combination of education and experience as follows:

    • Must hold a minimum of an Associates degree with focus in accounting or finance from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent foreign institution. 
    • Prefer a Baccalaureate degree with focus in accounting or finance from an accredited U.S. college or university, or equivalent foreign institution. 
    • 5 years of working experience in accounting / finance.

    Accounting Certificate preferred
