  • Overview and Summary


    Under the direction of the HR Director, the Senior Compensation Analyst will evaluate jobs and salary data to make recommendations for job classifications and salary structures.  This role will also hold responsibility for partnering with compensation vendors and managing compensation processes, tools, and systems. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Partner with external compensation vendors to gather market data, merit budgets and inflation data; review data and recommend budgets and salary band adjustments; partner with Finance to provide annual budget data.
    • Play a lead role in the administration of the annual compensation review process, including managing the compensation budget (merit and bonus allocations); administration of the compensation system (Halogen/Saba); training managers; and ensuring all compensation decisions are made within the allocated timeframe and in alignment with Urban Science Total Rewards strategy.
    • Develop and maintain all compensation communication materials and present compensation information to senior level management and employees.
    • Utilize HRIS to manage and update salary structures, individual salaries, promotion and position data; run reports from system as needed.
    • Manage short-term incentive programs, including maintenance of bonus plans/documents and developing forecast models.
    • Observe, interview, and survey employees to collect job, organizational, and occupational information; evaluate jobs; determine classification status, salary banding, bonus structures and make compensation recommendations.
    • Complete compensation audits, provide advice/guidance on the resolution of job classification and salary discrepancies, ensure fair pay practices.
    • Partner with and support local HR on internal equity analysis, providing recommendations that consider parity, market competitiveness and adherence to Urban Science compensation philosophy.
    • Maintain and update all salary structures, ensuring data is up to date and consistent with market changes.
    • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations; use information to create job descriptions and career ladders.
    • Complete goal setting and performance management tasks in a timely manner.

    • Technical Skills: Requires strong experience with compensation tools and systems and the creation and management of salary bands/salary structures.


    • Bachelor’s degree required (degrees in human resources, finance, business management, economics or related strongly preferred)
    • 4-7 years related work experience required, including experience with position benchmarking, compensation systems, tools and processes
    • Global compensation experience strongly preferred
